Were now recruiting a Statutory Compliance Officer on behalf of Renfrewshire Council to join their Housing Investment team within the Environment, Housing & Infrastructure service.

The Opportunity

As a pivotal member of the Compliance Team, you will support the Statutory Compliance Coordinator with the strategic and operational delivery of gas and electrical safety across Housing Revenue Account assets. Youll oversee inspection & servicing regimes, contract governance, quality assurance and monitoring/reporting to ensure statutory obligations are met and risk to tenants, staff and the community is minimised. This role offers a chance to use technical expertise in a publicservice environment where safety, compliance and tenant wellbeing are central.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing gas and electrical compliance programmes (inspection, servicing, recordkeeping)
  • Support procurement and delivery of compliance contracts, including QA/QC oversight and performance monitoring
  • Maintain compliance data, analyse trends and escalate risks proactively
  • Liaise with contractors, internal stakeholders and senior management to ensure standards are met
  • Support audits, policy updates and assurance reporting
  • Ensure adherence to legislation, regulation and best practice standards in the social housing sector

What Were Looking For

CORGI Level 4 VRQ in Gas Safety Management (Social Housing) or equivalent
Qualification/experience in BS7671 / IEE Wiring Regulations or comparable electrical safety standard
Proven statutory compliance experience within social housing (gas or electrical)
Strong IT skills, reportwriting and dataanalysis ability
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Ability to work independently, with strong prioritisation and attention to detail
HNC in Construction, Maintenance, Health & Safety (desirable)
Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
