About the Role
ANT Recruitment is supporting a highly respected organisation in Northamptonshire to appoint a Maintenance Supervisor on a permanent basis. This is a vital leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across multiple buildings.
Youll manage an internal team of operatives and external subcontractors, ensuring all maintenance works are completed efficiently, safely, and within budget. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on technical experience and proven supervisory capabilities in a commercial or estates environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and statutory maintenance schedules across the estate.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the maintenance team, providing guidance, scheduling tasks, and monitoring performance.
- Allocate and supervise the work of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
- Maintain asset registers and ensure all systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC) are well-documented and maintained.
- Carry out site inspections and ensure works are delivered to a high standard.
- Assist in budget development and monitor expenditure on maintenance projects.
- Ensure health and safety standards and regulatory compliance across all works.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance or Repairs Supervisor, ideally in commercial or estates-based environments.
- Experience managing both in-house teams and external contractors.
- Familiarity with multi-building sites and facilities management operations.
- Strong understanding of building services and planned maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Recognised trade background, ideally with an electrical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3).
- IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification.
- Experience working in public sector, NHS, education or social housing environments.
