Job Description – Body Shop Technician (Cosmetic Repairs)

Location: Bermuda
Salary: USD 45,000 – 50,000 per annum (Bermudian Dollar pegged 1:1 with USD)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Body Shop Technician with a strong focus on cosmetic and superficial vehicle repairs. The role is suited to an experienced panel technician who takes pride in high-quality finishes and can work independently within a small workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cosmetic body repairs including dents, scratches, minor panel damage, and trim repairs
  • Prepare panels for painting (sanding, filling, priming, masking)
  • Fit and align body panels, bumpers, trims, mirrors, and external components
  • Repair minor accident damage where structural integrity is not compromised
  • Ensure vehicles are finished to a high cosmetic and quality standard
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with painters and workshop technicians to meet turnaround targets

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Body Shop Technician / Panel Beater / Body Repair Technician
  • Strong experience with cosmetic and superficial body repairs
  • Competence with fillers, primers, sanding tools, and finishing equipment
  • Knowledge of vehicle body panels, trims, and materials
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Desirable

  • Experience with light commercial vehicles and vans
  • Paint preparation experience and familiarity with spray booth processes
  • Trade qualification in vehicle body repair or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Experience working in small workshops or overseas environments
