About the Role
ANT Recruitment is supporting a UK aviation organisation with the appointment of an Aircraft Loading Engineer.
You will help ensure that aircraft are loaded safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved weight-and-balance limitations, operational procedures and aviation regulations.
This is a safety-critical position requiring excellent numerical ability, attention to detail and effective coordination with flight crews and ground-operations personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify aircraft load plans and loading instructions
- Calculate aircraft weight, balance and centre-of-gravity limits
- Produce accurate load sheets and operational documentation
- Ensure passengers, baggage, cargo and equipment are correctly distributed
- Confirm that aircraft remain within approved structural and operational limitations
- Communicate loading information and changes to flight crews
- Coordinate with ground-handling, operations and engineering teams
- Monitor loading and unloading activities where required
- Identify and resolve loading discrepancies before aircraft departure
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation
- Follow dangerous-goods procedures where applicable
- Report safety concerns, discrepancies and operational risks
- Comply with applicable UK aviation regulations and company procedures
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in aircraft loading, load control, weight and balance or aviation ground operations
- Understanding of aircraft weight, balance and centre-of-gravity principles
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to produce and verify accurate operational documentation
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and accurate in a time-sensitive environment
- Strong understanding of aviation safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of an operational team
- Existing right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
- Previous helicopter or business-aviation experience
- Recognised aircraft load-control or weight-and-balance training
- Experience working within a regulated UK aviation environment
- Knowledge of dangerous-goods procedures
- Experience coordinating with pilots, engineers and ground-handling teams
- Airside driving permit or relevant airport-operational experience
Any required aircraft-specific or company-specific training will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
