We are currently recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a well known, reputable housebuilder based in Bedford, working on high quality residential projects and contributing to strong commercial performance.

The Opportunity

This role is a key commercial position within a collaborative and supportive team environment. You'll manage cost control, procurement and commercial performance across residential construction projects from start to finish. You will prepare bills of quantities, tender documents and cost estimates, conduct valuations and final accounts, and ensure budgets are maintained and financial reporting is accurate. You'll work closely with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors to drive value and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cost control and commercial performance of residential projects from inception to completion
• Prepare bills of quantities, tender documentation and cost estimates
• Conduct valuations, manage payments and final account reconciliations
• Manage subcontractor accounts and final accounts, ensuring contractual compliance
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget and schedule
• Support continuous improvement of commercial procedures, ensuring best practice and value for money

About You

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within housebuilding or main contracting
Strong commercial awareness, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and within a team
Excellent verbal and written communication and IT skills
Full UK driving licence
Proactive, organised and able to perform well under pressure
