Role Overview:
We are looking for a diligent Second Mate to support the safe navigation and operation of a vessel during its relocation. The role involves maintaining navigational watch, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and assisting the Captain Master in operational duties.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe navigational watch in accordance with STCW regulations.
  • Monitor vessel position, chart progress, and maintain course and speed.
  • Execute the Masters standing and special orders diligently.
  • Ensure that bridge equipment is operational and navigational aids are correctly set.
  • Conduct routine inspections for safety and security.​

Requirements:

  • Valid STCW Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency.
  • Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an Officer of the Watch.
  • Clean criminal record (background check mandatory).
  • Ability to mobilise to the South East England region within 3 hours of alert.​
