Were currently recruiting a Tenancy Officer to join a respected housing services team at a local authority in Nottingham, supporting residents in temporary accommodation and contributing to secure housing outcomes.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will support residents in temporary accommodation across the city, helping them move towards secure housing. Youll manage referrals, welcome new residents, issue licence keys, assist with Housing Benefit claims, monitor behaviour and liaise with partner servicesincluding housing solutions, benefit teams and external agenciesto ensure excellent tenancy management and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage referrals and placements into emergency or temporary accommodation
  • Welcome new residents, issue keys and explain tenancy or licence conditions
  • Assist residents with Housing Benefit claims, rent and servicecharge advice
  • Monitor resident behaviour, enforce tenancy conditions when required
  • Liaise with Housing Solutions & external partner agencies to support moveon and access to services
  • Ensure properties are maintained, void rates kept to a minimum and records up to date
  • Maintain accurate caserecords, attend meetings and adhere to tenancymanagement procedures

About You

Previous experience in a housing environment, tenancy management, homelessness or related service
Calm, clear decisionmaking under pressure and the ability to manage challenging situations
Good understanding of homelessness issues, housing benefit and tenancy services
Strong interpersonal and communication skillsverbal and written
Ability to work with clients who may not engage readily or may breach tenancy conditions
Motivation to make a positive impact and support residents towards stability

Salary: £28,598 £31,022 per annum
