Job Summary
The Senior Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing products from Chinese suppliers, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring timely procurement to support business operations. The role works closely with logistics, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure smooth import processes and cost-effective purchasing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase products from Chinese suppliers based on business requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product quality.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
- Track import schedules and resolve any supply chain or shipping issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid stock shortages.
- Ensure purchased products meet quality standards and company specifications.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and procurement reports.
- Conduct market research to identify new products and pricing trends.
- Work closely with Finance, Warehouse, Sales, and other departments to support procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing, preferably involving Chinese products or suppliers.
- Experience dealing with suppliers in China and managing import procurement processes.
- Good understanding of international trade, Incoterms, import documentation, and logistics coordination.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP/procurement systems.
- Chinese language proficiency (Mandarin) is highly preferred. English communication skills are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
