Job Summary
The Senior Logistics & Freight Forwarding Officer is responsible for coordinating domestic and international shipments, managing freight forwarding operations, ensuring customs compliance, and optimizing transportation processes. The role works closely with suppliers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal departments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate import and export shipments by sea, air, and land.
- Arrange freight bookings with shipping lines, airlines, and transport providers.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), Certificates of Origin, and other import/export documents.
- Liaise with customs brokers and government authorities to ensure timely customs clearance.
- Monitor shipment schedules and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and transport providers to ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Resolve shipment delays, customs issues, and transportation challenges.
- Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with logistics vendors and freight forwarders.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and logistics reports.
- Support inventory movement and warehouse coordination when required.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, import/export, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and trade documentation.
- Experience coordinating sea freight, air freight, and land transportation.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, import/export regulations, and customs clearance processes.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/logistics management systems.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
