Senior Tax Accountant
Position: Senior Tax Accountant
Department: Accounting & Tax
Report to: Japanese management
Main Responsibilities
1. Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Act as the main contact person for both existing and new clients.
- Conduct advisory meetings covering accounting, tax, labor, and legal matters.
- Handle client inquiries and provide appropriate professional advice in coordination with internal teams.
- Support new business development and client retention through regular communication and proactive proposals.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with Japanese management regarding client issues, progress, and opportunities.
- Review client deliverables before submission and provide constructive feedback to accounting/tax teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with government institutions, auditors, and business partners when required.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, seminars, or networking events as a representative of the firm.
- Support cross-office collaboration with other group entities and regional teams.
2. Accounting & Tax Compliance
- Manage and review monthly and annual tax filings (Tax on Income, VAT, WHT, Tax on Salary, Patent Tax, etc.).
- Perform and review monthly tax declarations, ensuring accuracy and timely e-filing submission.
- Finalize monthly accounting records and financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Cambodian Accounting Standards.
- Prepare and review ACAR (Accounting and Auditing Regulator) reports and ensure timely submission.
- Perform Tax on Income (TOI) computation and filing, including reconciliation between accounting profit and taxable income.
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, collection, and coordination with other offices.
- Communicate directly with the General Department of Taxation (GDT) and other authorities for clarifications, audits, or compliance matters.
- Prepare supporting documents for external audits and tax audits, and respond to inquiries from auditors and clients.
- Provide training, guidance, and review of work prepared by junior accountants.
- Keep up to date with developments in tax regulations, Prakas, and IFRS standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 45 years of professional experience in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
- Holds a valid Tax Agent License or recognized professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of Cambodian Tax Law, IFRS, and ACAR reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to handle Monthly Tax Declaration, Tax on Income filing, financial statement finalization, and AR management.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills; able to provide advisory independently.
- Excellent command of English; Japanese ability is a strong advantage.
- Proactive, responsible, analytical, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple clients.

- Salary Range: USD 900 1,000
