Job Summary
The Senior Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing products from Vietnamese suppliers, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and commercial terms, and ensuring timely procurement to support business operations. The role collaborates with logistics, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure efficient import processes and cost-effective purchasing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Source and procure products from suppliers in Vietnam based on business needs.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new Vietnamese suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and reliable supply.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor order status through to delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to ensure smooth import and transportation processes.
- Track shipment schedules and resolve any procurement or delivery issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid stock shortages.
- Ensure purchased products meet quality standards and company specifications.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and procurement reports.
- Conduct market research to identify new products, suppliers, and pricing trends in Vietnam.
- Work closely with Finance, Warehouse, Sales, and other departments to support procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing, preferably involving Vietnamese products or suppliers.
- Experience managing procurement from Vietnam and coordinating import processes.
- Good understanding of international trade, Incoterms, import documentation, and logistics coordination.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP/procurement systems.
- Vietnamese language proficiency is highly preferred. English communication skills are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
