Overview

Our client is a leading energy infrastructure company seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their Solar Energy Infrastructure team. This 12-month contract position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge utility-scale solar, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and power plant operations projects. The role combines remote flexibility with hands-on project leadership, requiring periodic travel to the Juno Beach, FL headquarters, particularly during the initial 3-6 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced multi-disciplinary solar energy projects
  • Perform project management duties including planning, organizing, and managing utility-scale solar infrastructure projects
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to safety standards across all project phases
  • Conduct technical analysis and engineering oversight for solar, BESS, and power plant operations
  • Lead technical teams and coordinate cross-functional project activities
  • Support electrical/I&C engineering functions including electric distribution systems
  • Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals
  • Assist with negotiations, performance tracking, and comprehensive project reporting
  • Serve as an extension of the engineering team, providing technical expertise and guidance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
  • 11-15 years of engineering experience, with significant focus on solar energy infrastructure
  • Proven experience with utility-scale solar projects and BESS systems
  • Strong background in electrical distribution systems and power plant operations
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing complex engineering projects
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the energy sector
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to travel to Juno Beach, FL as required (more frequent initially)
  • Florida residency or willingness to relocate preferred
