Contract Position | 12 Months  | Miami, FL

Position Overview

Our client is a leading energy company seeking an experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator with 11-15 years of expertise in hybrid cloud environments, enterprise directory services, and virtualized infrastructure. This role requires a technical professional who can manage complex systems across on-premises and cloud platforms while maintaining high availability and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure spanning on-premises and cloud platforms
  • Manage enterprise directory services including Active Directory, LDAP, and identity management systems
  • Oversee virtualized infrastructure using VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies
  • Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and optimization across enterprise environments
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects
  • Implement and maintain security policies, patch management, and compliance standards
  • Provide tier 3 support for complex technical issues and system outages
  • Mentor junior administrators and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and maintain technical architecture diagrams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 11-15 years of hands-on experience in systems administration
  • Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Extensive experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Strong virtualization experience with VMware vSphere or equivalent
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or other automation scripting
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls
  • Relevant certifications preferred (MCSE, VCP, AWS/Azure certifications)
