Duration: Contract (6+ Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Travel: Up to 20% (Project sites + Juno Beach, FL)

Overview
Our client, a leading renewable energy developer, is seeking a Commissioning Supervisor – Solar to support remote commissioning operations for utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects. This role plays a key part in ensuring successful startup, testing, and performance validation of solar power plants across the U.S.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in solar commissioning, SCADA systems, and grid integration, along with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders including contractors, control centers, and transmission operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Support commissioning and startup activities for utility-scale solar (PV) projects
- Act as the Owner's representative to oversee commissioning execution, compliance, and reporting

Prepare and coordinate:
- PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) testing
- GIA (Generator Interconnection Agreement) testing
- ISO/grid compliance testing
- Develop and manage commissioning schedules aligned with mechanical completion milestones

Coordinate energy forecasting and grid notifications (AVR/AGC) with:
- Control centers
- Customers
- Grid operators
- Review and analyze system performance data to identify deficiencies and ensure optimal plant operation

Support SCADA and IT teams with system checks and validation of:
- HMI functionality
- Alarm systems
- Data accuracy
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors to track commissioning progress and ensure quality execution
- Support critical system checkout processes and alarm validations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar or power generation commissioning

Strong knowledge of PV systems, including:
- Inverters
- Trackers
- Transformers
- Substations
- SCADA systems

Experience working with grid operators such as:
- Transmission Operators
- Independent System Operators (ISO)
- Balancing Authorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office / O365
- Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in remote commissioning operations (RCO) environments
- Advanced knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial controls
- Experience supporting large-scale solar project startups
- Familiarity with performance analytics and energy forecasting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to distinguish color-coded controls in SCADA/HMI systems
- Ability to work extended periods on a computer
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
