Are you a seasoned engineer with a passion for renewable energy and battery storage innovation? AP Recruiters & Associates, a veteran-owned staffing firm, is partnering with a leading utility company to place a Senior Project Engineer on their Utility Scale Energy Storage team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead high-impact battery augmentation projects from concept through commissioning, working alongside some of the brightest minds in clean energy.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and manage multiple concurrent battery augmentation projects from conception through execution
• Perform detailed design engineering for electrical, structural, and civil aspects of utility-scale energy storage systems
• Collaborate with Engineers of Record, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams including permitting, procurement, and construction
• Prepare technical scopes of work for incorporation into contract documents
• Identify value engineering opportunities and emerging technology prospects
• Support energy storage strategies through technical and market analysis
• Work collaboratively across the organization to support design, construction, and commissioning phases

What You Bring:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited program
• 11–15 years of engineering experience, with expertise in utility-scale energy storage or substation design
• Subject matter expertise in power electronics, battery storage system design, or generation tie design
• Strong knowledge of battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC-DC converters
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, and NEC
• Experience with interconnection studies and GIA material modification adjustment (MMA) processes (WECC/CAISO a plus)
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset
