Overview of the Role
Join our team as a senior food service leader overseeing comprehensive dining operations at a prestigious 609-bed academic teaching hospital. This pivotal role combines operational excellence with strategic leadership, directly impacting patient experience, staff satisfaction, and organizational success. You'll lead a dynamic team delivering retail, patient meal, and catering services while driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day operations for all food service divisions including retail, patient meals, and catering
- Achieve financial targets and manage P&L responsibility for multi-million dollar operations
- Lead, develop, and mentor management teams in a unionized environment
- Build and maintain executive-level client relationships and serve as primary site representative
- Ensure HACCP compliance and regulatory standards across all operations
- Develop strategic plans for service enhancement and business growth
- Oversee special functions, cash control, and payroll management
- Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and maintain positive public relations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in food service operations
- Proven leadership experience in healthcare food and nutrition services
- Demonstrated success managing in unionized environments
- Strong financial acumen with P&L management experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for C-suite interactions
- Proficiency in computer systems and report management
- Experience with food safety regulations and HACCP protocols
