Plant Engineer Boiler Systems
Location: Center, North Dakota (35 miles from Bismarck)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Engineer to join an established two-unit coal-fired power generation facility. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boiler systems while leading continuous improvement and engineering initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and coordinate the installation of new or replacement plant process and boiler equipment

Prepare construction drawings and specifications

Work with consultants and contractors to execute engineering objectives

Troubleshoot systems with operations and maintenance teams to solve production or safety challenges

Monitor boiler operating conditions and manage maintenance activities (boilers, air heaters, gas path)

Analyze plant data and recommend improvements to performance, safety, and efficiency
-
Stay up to date with emerging technologies that enhance plant reliability and longevity

Identify training needs and initiate actions on capital and O&M projects

Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements

Maintain technical records, standard drawings, and system files

Collaborate with other departments as needed

Conduct engineering inspections and support various engineering tasks
Qualifications:
-
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (required)

2-5 years of experience in a power plant setting (preferred)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication

Familiarity with engineering software and documentation systems

Knowledge of coal-fired power generation is a plus
