Overview of the Role
Join a leading energy company as a Substation Manager where you'll oversee critical infrastructure projects while ensuring safety standards and quality control. This role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to deliver successful substation construction and maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce safety protocols on job sites, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to complete projects effectively
- Perform inspections and maintain QA/QC documentation for construction quality
- Review electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
- Oversee concrete work, foundations, drill piers, and other specialized construction
- Manage material procurement and takeoffs
- Support commissioning efforts through energization
- Identify and resolve construction issues to keep projects on schedule
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in substation construction management
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and hazardous voltage environments
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to identify/mitigate hazards
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and structural drawings
- Experience with concrete work, foundations, and related construction
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Project)
- Physical ability to work in challenging environments
- Organized approach to documentation and reporting
