Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee specialized section activities with considerable independence
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of support staff and Administrative Assistant I personnel
  • Maintain operational procedures, schedules, and prepare detailed reports
  • Attend meetings, distribute agendas, and transcribe minutes
  • Advise public, County employees, and other agencies on departmental policies
  • Investigate and resolve citizen complaints and suggestions
  • Compose original correspondence and prepare complex written reports
  • Maintain various records, complete legal forms, and handle timekeeping/payroll functions

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible office experience
  • Minimum 6 months experience reviewing, overseeing, and leading others' work
  • Thorough knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
  • Strong understanding of organizational and public administration principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships
  • Proficiency in preparing complex reports and maintaining records
