Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technology assessment and design of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Evaluate and optimize battery technologies from cells to complete system integration
  • Manage system sizing calculations and loss optimization for maximum efficiency
  • Collaborate on power purchase agreements to ensure project-specific requirements are met
  • Drive value engineering initiatives to identify and resolve technical bottlenecks
  • Coordinate with supply chain and project management teams for seamless execution
  • Conduct due diligence on manufacturing sites and emerging battery technologies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in energy storage design and technology evaluation
  • Extensive knowledge of battery chemistry, power electronics, and thermal management
  • Experience with BESS industry standards (UL1973, UL9540, NFPA 855, NEC)
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel, PowerBI, and presentation development
  • Proven project management and leadership abilities
  • Willingness to travel for technology assessments
