Transmission Line Principal Engineer
Location: Multiple Locations, USA
Contract Duration: 12 months

Overview of the Role:

Join a leading clean energy company as a Transmission Line Principal Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing and managing transmission infrastructure that connects renewable energy projects to the grid. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge wind, solar, and battery storage projects while advancing the clean energy transition across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transmission line design for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects
  • Lead projects from conception through construction and commissioning
  • Coordinate with Early Stage Project Managers to define project requirements and scope
  • Secure and manage engineering consulting resources through approved supplier networks
  • Develop project routes and secure necessary permits and data including geotechnical and lidar
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables for competitive proposals and construction projects
  • Represent E&C interests in stakeholder meetings and management presentations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years direct experience in high voltage transmission line development and construction
  • Strong knowledge of transmission design and project management
  • Technical competence with one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and engineering deliverables
  • Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel within North America

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP and/or P.E. certification
  • Proficiency with PLSCADD, AutoCAD, Primavera software
  • Project engineering or management experience
