Overview of the Role
Join a dynamic engineering team as a Project Estimator I where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping cost estimates for cutting-edge energy infrastructure projects. This position offers exceptional exposure to renewable energy technologies including wind, solar, energy storage, and transmission systems. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate project estimates that drive strategic decision-making in the rapidly evolving energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates from conceptual to definitive phases
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary construction plans
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on project specifications
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies
- Present cost estimates to senior management and project stakeholders
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for competitive pricing
- Track project costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of project estimating experience with conceptual engineering focus
- Experience in utility-scale energy projects and renewable energy infrastructure
- Proficiency in value engineering principles and construction methods
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and analytical problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities
- Knowledge of industry standards in project estimating and cost management
