Overview

Our client is a leading financial services organization. We're seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join their Application Development Services team, focusing on stored value card solutions and payment systems. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while contributing to critical financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and modern Android frameworks
  • Collaborate with product owners to develop innovative solutions for stored value card systems
  • Apply full-stack development principles with focus on front-end Android development
  • Build and maintain applications using Gradle build tools and KTOR framework
  • Conduct peer code reviews and mentor team members on best practices
  • Create comprehensive unit tests and support continuous integration practices
  • Work within agile development methodologies with multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide technical support through QA, UAT, and production phases
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis for production systems
  • Stay current with Android development trends and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of relevant software development experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM field from accredited institution, or equivalent experience
  • Citizenship: US Citizenship required - no sponsorship available
  • Core Technologies:
    • Expert-level Android development with Kotlin and Java
    • Advanced knowledge of Android frameworks and architecture
    • Proficiency with Gradle build tools and Maven
    • Experience with KTOR framework
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong Git version control experience (merging, conflicts, cherry-picking)
    • AWS cloud services knowledge
    • SQL database proficiency
    • Angular framework experience (plus)
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, experience with executive presentations
