Overview

Our client, a leading energy company, is seeking a dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join their facility maintenance team in Story City, Iowa. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable individual to work in a dynamic industrial environment while earning competitive compensation of $34.16 per hour on a 12-month contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment maintenance in an industrial facility environment
• Operate various equipment including forklifts, skid loaders, tractors, and UTVs
• Execute general carpentry and plumbing tasks as needed
• Build Gaylord boxes according to supervisor specifications
• Sort and categorize meters, surge shields, electronics, transponders, and other materials
• Prepare materials for auction with proper categorization and tagging
• Bale cardboard and wire jackets following safety protocols
• Sort various metals for recycling and disposal using appropriate techniques
• Handle and sort toner cartridges for proper storage or recycling
• Maintain facility cleanliness including floors and exterior areas
• Remove trash and debris to ensure organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and utilize personal protective equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver's license required (driving is part of position duties)
• Previous general labor or similar experience preferred
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects
• Stamina for extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
• Willingness to work in various environments including indoor/outdoor settings
