Location: Juno Beach, FL | Duration: 12 Months | Type: Contract

Position Overview

Our client is a leading energy resources company specializing in renewable energy infrastructure development. We are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Principal Engineer to join their Engineering & Construction team. This is a pivotal role managing the complete lifecycle of transmission line projects for wind, solar, and battery energy storage installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage transmission line design projects from early-stage conception through construction and commissioning
• Oversee engineering consultants and design teams through the entire project lifecycle
• Collaborate with Early Stage Project Managers to define project requirements and scope
• Develop detailed scopes of work for transmission line design projects
• Manage vendor selection, bid evaluation, and contract award processes through the integrated procurement system
• Work with the Development Group on FERC 1000 competitive proposals and greenfield projects
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for transmission line design oversight
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications
• Coordinate with stakeholders across substation design, power systems analysis, and protection/control teams

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional engineering experience
• Proven expertise in transmission line design and project management
• Strong knowledge of FERC regulations and competitive transmission processes
• Experience managing engineering consultant relationships and performance
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Experience with renewable energy projects (wind, solar, storage) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with power systems and electrical grid infrastructure

Compensation & Benefits

• 12-month contract position
• 40 hours per week
