Mechanical Manager

Our client is a renowned Surgical Robotics Group that has received numerous awards for their innovative work.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the R&D and engineering team to design and develop an advanced surgical robotic system.
• Provide technical support during field trials, troubleshoot issues, and promptly rectify technical faults related to the product and its applications.
• Develop and implement testing tools and procedures for product evaluation.
• Assist in the regulatory approval processes, particularly in areas such as EMC and safety.
• Support clinical trials to obtain regulatory approval.
• Oversee the entire product development process, including design, tooling, production, material selection, and comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

• Hold a BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computing, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. An MSc or PhD would be advantageous.
• Possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the field of surgical instruments.
• Have experience in designing surgical instruments for minimally invasive surgery (MIS).
• Familiarity with CNC machining, metal injection modeling, or other methods used in the production of surgical instruments, as well as the ability to liaise with suppliers for instrument manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ISO13485 quality system and ISO62304 is beneficial.
• Ability to work well under pressure, self-motivated, and a team player with effective communication, time management, and leadership skills.
