About the job Transition Specialist
Job Duties: The Employment Services Transition Manager will assess individuals with intellectual disabilities for community employment readiness, conduct surveys and assessments to identify employer needs and job openings, provide support, coaching and mentoring to the employed individuals and assist individuals in obtaining and enhancing additional training and skills. Marketing person’s skills, employer negotiation, job structuring, job carving and job placement are scopes of services to be provided.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High school diploma and at least 4 years experience in related field or work experience, proven oral and written communication skills. Reliable transportation for local travel, Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements:
Position is sometimes active in transporting Clients to and from appointments, outings and employment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Some exposure to the outdoors while engaging in outdoor activities. OT work may be required. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Exposure to behaviors that will require using restraining techniques
