About our Client

A listed construction and manufacturing company with a very diverse portfolio and a multi-million revenue. Our client employs over 2,100 people in the region and has been in a growth and transformation mode for the past 12 months. They have aggressive growth plans over the next 5 years to further expand their presence in Asia and in Middle East and are looking for a seasoned Group CFO as part of their strategic growth plans.

Job Description

You will be reporting to the Group Managing Director and working closely with the senior leaders, providing full Finance overview to the group, playing a pivotal role with its transformation vision. Its industrial diversity makes this organisation complex and challenging. This role will be managing a group of CFOs from different subsidiaries and will be based in Sarawak, Malaysia.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Manage company's financial affairs from a strategic perspective, financial control aspects and liquidity as well as currency hedging.
  • Develop and implement an organization's overall financial strategy and have effective overall management and control of all capital and income budget to ensure financial resilience.
  • Responsible for the financial aspects of any strategic projects and M&As.
  • Assure that appropriate financial and operational controls are in place for support of cost and income control, and for procedures to be followed, a comprehensive overview of all departments' activities and budgets must be maintained.
  • Maintain a current understanding of financial, tax, administration, and operational best practices and ensure that the organization complies with all legal and statutory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of change and development by championing and promoting it. Develop a high-performance culture centered on employee empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards, as well as collaboration.
  • Understand the intricacies and challenges of these diverse and sometimes volatile markets and industries segments to support and consult the senior leaders.

The Successful Applicant

You must have a MS/BS in Finance or Accounting and a professional finance certification/membership such as ICAEW, CPA, ICAS, CFA, ACCA, CIMA / refinancing. High professionalism, diplomacy, and cultural awareness. Possesses a proven track record as a Group Executive (CFO) in the Southeast Asia region within a large, prominent and sophisticated businesses (both local and/or MNC). Ideally with working experience in listed companies from either oil & gas, trading, or property industries.
