Data Entry Typist

Position Summary

The Data Entry Typist will be responsible for accurately and efficiently typing and entering information into digital databases and documentation systems. This role requires strong keyboarding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising data quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Type and input a variety of data from source documents into computer systems or databases

• Proofread and verify data for accuracy and completeness

• Maintain organized filing systems for both digital and paper records

• Identify and correct errors using established quality control procedures

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times

• Respond to data requests and provide administrative support as needed

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure data consistency and accuracy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in typing or data entry is a plus

• Proven experience as a data entry typist, word processor, or similar role

• Excellent typing speed (minimum 50 WPM preferred) with a high level of accuracy

• Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry software

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with office management software, CRM systems, or document processing platforms

• Familiarity with the financial or insurance industry

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
