Position 

Archax has an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Manager to oversee business-critical IT infrastructure and manage the support team. Leading a team of two engineers, you will be the primary contact for all technical support queries both internally and externally.

You will provide critical operational advice and hands-on support to issues, overseeing the day to day running of the IT support function and ensuring adherence to ITIL processes at all times. When support queues are quiet there will be the traditional level 2/3 project work.

The ideal candidate would have experience working in a fast-paced start-up fintech or capital markets environment on real-time applications, working with a small team but understanding how to scale and provide advice on building out the IT infrastructure to best support the business.  

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates training and orientation for new technology users and helps them become familiar with equipment and networks
  • Ensures all users benefit from effective technology and efficient Internet access, and continually assesses needs and requirements
  • Organises support, troubleshooting, and repair for IT equipment and networks
  • Monitors online security for users and networks and takes appropriate steps to address security breaches if necessary
  • Establishes relationships with technology and component vendors
  • Oversees IT support department staff, including education, training, and development.
  • Advises human resources colleagues on staffing needs and participates in the hiring and training process.
  • Develops and maintains emergency plans to address equipment, power, or security failure to ensure preservation of technology and data.
  • Has a thorough understanding of available technology and researches to learn about innovative solutions and new releases

Qualifications

  • Experience of managing a small team, with 3 years plus experience in a management or team lead position using ITIL practices.
  • Experience administrating a Hybrid Microsoft Active Directory Domain. 
  • Understanding and experience with Office 365 and Azure AD Administration. 
  • Solid understanding of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, VLANs, Ports, NATS, Multicast). 
  • Solid experience managing Windows 10 devices and supporting infrastructure. 
  • Experience maintaining and using a ticketing system (Jira, ManageEngine). 
  • Experience administrating Windows Server 2019. 
  • Experience administrating Linux (Centos 7). 
  • Experience/understanding of containerisation tools (Docker, ECS/ECR, EKS). 
  • Understanding of the "Infrastructure as Code" paradigm. 
  • Firm understanding of IT Security principles and their implementation in day-to-day activities. 
  • Scripting experience (Shell, PowerShell, Python). 
  • Experience working in a regulated environment. 
  • Experience with VMware ESXi  
  • Experience administrating an AWS Cloud estate (EC2, ECS, R53, RDS, ELB, CloudFormation). 

Desirable skills

  • Experience with Networking devices such as Firewalls, Switches, User VPNs. 
  • Experience with Palo Alto Virtual Firewalls and GlobalProtect User VPNs. 
  • Experience in capital markets with real time trading systems/market data. 
  • Experience in deployment automation, monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure. 
  • CCNA 
  • Knowledge of crypto currencies and/or blockchain technology and understanding of how those technologies work.
