About the job Design Technician

The Design Technician supports engineering and design teams by creating, modifying, and reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models for products, systems, and projects. This role ensures accuracy, adherence to design standards, and compliance with specifications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.

This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will be rejected.


Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, update, and maintain technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models using industry-standard software

Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering specifications

Assist design engineers in prototyping, testing, and implementing design modifications

Maintain documentation and design files in accordance with company standards

Support product development teams with design and technical documentation needs

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues

Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards

Participate in design reviews, providing technical feedback and recommendations

Continuously improve processes, design tools, and documentation standards


Required Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelors degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, CAD Design, or a related field

2–5 years of experience in design support, CAD drafting, or technical drawing

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit

Strong understanding of engineering and design principles

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in mechanical, electrical, or civil design environments

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerances

Familiarity with design standards, ISO, and industry-specific regulations

Experience with 3D modeling, rendering, and technical visualization

Prior remote work experience in a design or technical role


Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $55,000 – $80,000 USD, based on experience, skills, and geographic location
