Role Overview

Sancta Maria is seeking a dedicated and experienced IB Mathematics Teacher with additional responsibility as IBDP Coordinator. This dual role offers the opportunity to lead academic excellence in the IB Diploma Programme while continuing classroom teaching in IBDP Mathematics. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching Mathematics at the DP level, alongside proven leadership capabilities in curriculum planning and programme coordination.

Key Responsibilities

As IB Mathematics Teacher:

• Deliver high-quality teaching of IB Diploma Programme Mathematics (AA or AI, SL and HL).

• Plan, prepare, and assess lessons aligned with IB standards and school expectations.

• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for Mathematics among students.

• Support students with their Internal Assessments (IAs) and preparation for final exams.

• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.

As IBDP Coordinator:

• Lead the strategic planning and day-to-day operations of the IBDP.

• Serve as the main liaison between the school and the IB Organisation (IBO).

• Guide and support IBDP subject teachers, Extended Essay supervisors, and TOK coordinators.

• Ensure compliance with IB policies and procedures, including documentation, assessments, and deadlines.

• Lead the planning and delivery of the IBDP Core (CAS, EE, TOK).

• Organise internal and external professional development for DP staff.

• Coordinate university and career guidance with the school counsellor.

• Support student well-being and success throughout the DP journey.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (Masters preferred).

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).

• Minimum 35 years' experience teaching IB DP Mathematics.

• Prior experience as an IBDP Coordinator or leadership role within the IB framework is highly desirable.

• Deep understanding of the IB Diploma Programme philosophy, standards, and assessment practices.

• Strong interpersonal, organisational, and leadership skills.

• Commitment to student-centred learning, academic integrity, and international-mindedness.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
