August 2024 Start - The school is a bilingual IB World School situated in Muscat, Oman serving the local Omani community, as well as the bilingual expatriate community. The school was established in 1993 under the ownership of the Royal Office and Royal Oman Police Pension Funds, on land donated by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, to provide high quality international education whilst embracing traditional values based on the foundations of Omans cultural heritage.

The school is authorised to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the quality of its provision has been recognized with accreditation from the Council for International Schools (CIS).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drama Instruction:

    • Develop and deliver dynamic and captivating drama lessons, nurturing students' skills in acting, directing, and stagecraft.
    • Instill a love for the dramatic arts, encouraging self-expression and collaboration among students.
  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Design an innovative drama curriculum that aligns with international educational standards.
    • Integrate diverse theatrical forms, including classical and contemporary drama, to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the dramatic arts.
  3. Leadership and Departmental Oversight (for qualified candidates):

    • Lead and inspire the Creative and Performing Arts Department, providing guidance and support to fellow educators.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-disciplinary projects that highlight the synergy between drama and other artistic disciplines.
  4. Production Management:

    • Organize and oversee school productions, ensuring seamless coordination of rehearsals, technical aspects, and performances.
    • Mentor students in all aspects of theatrical production, fostering their growth as actors, directors, and technicians.
  5. Extracurricular Involvement:

    • Establish and lead drama clubs, workshops, or theatrical societies to provide students with additional opportunities for artistic expression.
    • Encourage and mentor students to participate in local and international drama festivals and competitions.
  6. Assessment and Feedback:

    • Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate students' theatrical progress and performance.
    • Provide constructive feedback to enhance students' dramatic skills and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theater Arts, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification.
  • Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience, with a strong background in drama education.
  • Proficiency in directing theatrical productions and managing stagecraft.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
