Role Overview:

Sancta Maria is seeking a dedicated and responsible Male House Parent to join its residential boarding team. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model, passionate about the pastoral care of students, and capable of creating a secure, structured, and homely environment for boarders.

This role is central to supporting students emotional well-being, personal growth, and overall experience of boarding life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide round-the-clock pastoral care for male boarding students, ensuring their health, safety, and emotional well-being
  • Supervise daily routines, including wake-up, meals, study time, recreation, and bedtime
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a mentor and positive influence
  • Enforce school and boarding house rules consistently, fairly, and with empathy
  • Communicate regularly with boarding leadership, academic staff, and parents as needed
  • Support students with academic organisation, personal hygiene, and social integration
  • Assist in the planning and supervision of weekend activities and excursions
  • Maintain clear records of student behaviour, incidents, and welfare matters
  • Be a visible, approachable presence in the house and around the school community
  • Uphold the schools safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree (Education-related qualification preferred)
  • Prior experience working in a boarding school or similar residential setting preferred
  • A genuine interest in the care and development of young people
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm, organised, and confident under pressure
  • Male applicants only (to meet student welfare and gender-specific accommodation needs)
  • Teaching or coaching experience is a plus but not essential
  • Willingness to live on-site and be actively involved in school life
