The Role

We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join a vibrant international learning community for an August 2026 start. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of primary-aged students while creating a positive and engaging classroom environment.

The role requires a teacher who is passionate about primary education and committed to developing confident, curious, and independent learners. The Elementary Homeroom Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction across core subject areas, build strong relationships with students and families, and contribute to a collaborative teaching environment that supports the holistic development of every child.


The School

Founded in 2016, the school is a well-established K–12 international school located at the foot of the historic YuQuan Mountain in Haidian District, Beijing — an area widely recognised for academic excellence and its proximity to leading universities. The campus spans 200,000 square metres and combines modern educational facilities with landscaped gardens and more than 140,000 square metres of green space.

The school delivers a bilingual, internationally aligned curriculum that draws on both Chinese and Western educational traditions. The academic programme is organised across Elementary School (Grades K–5), Middle School (Grades 6–8), and High School (Grades 9–12).

In the Elementary and Middle School divisions, the school follows a bilingual programme that integrates the US Common Core Standards and Next Generation Science Standards alongside the Chinese National Curriculum. In High School, students follow a rigorous programme that includes US Common Core and College Board AP courses as well as the UK IGCSE and A-Level pathways.


Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Instruction
    Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons across core primary subject areas including literacy, numeracy, science and social studies.
  • Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.
  • Use a range of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Support the development of key skills including critical thinking, collaboration, communication and problem-solving.

Homeroom Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advocate and point of contact for students in the homeroom class.
  • Monitor and support students academic progress, well-being, behaviour and social development.
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and confident to participate.

Curriculum Implementation

  • Deliver the schools curriculum effectively while maintaining high expectations for student learning and achievement.
  • Collaborate with specialist teachers and grade-level colleagues to ensure a well-rounded and cohesive educational programme.
  • Use creative and inquiry-based approaches to enhance student engagement and deepen understanding.

Parent Communication

  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well-being.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates on academic and social development.
  • Build strong partnerships with families to support student learning and development.

Student Assessment

  • Assess and monitor student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback that supports student growth and improvement.
  • Use assessment data to inform teaching and differentiate instruction.

Classroom Management

  • Establish clear routines and expectations that support a respectful, organised and positive classroom environment.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies that promote responsibility and mutual respect.
  • Encourage student independence and positive participation in learning.

Extracurricular Involvement

  • Support and participate in school events, activities and extracurricular programmes.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community.


Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • A four-year degree from an accredited university.
  • Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or a recognised teaching qualification such as QTS or a national/state teaching licence.
  • A minimum of three years teaching experience in an international school, bilingual school, or government/state school environment.
