About the job Director of People (multi site/medical start up)
Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an emerging, high-growth healthcare organization to hire a dynamic Director of People to lead its multi-site operations and build the foundation for future expansion.
The Director of People serves as a strategic and operational leader responsible for building and optimizing the people and organizational infrastructure to support our client's continued growth. This role will design scalable systems, processes, and programs that strengthen the employee experience, improve operational efficiency, and enable a multi-clinic healthcare organization of 300+ employees to thrive. The ideal candidate combines human resources expertise with operational acumen and project management, bringing a track record of driving transformation in dynamic, high-growth environments. This leader will be hands-on when needed yet capable of steering long-term HR and organizational strategy, ensuring the company's people systems evolve alongside its expanding network.
Key Responsibilities
People & Culture Leadership
- Lead all aspects of the human resources function, including employee relations, performance management, compensation, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the executive team, advising on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy to support company growth.
- Build and sustain a people-first culture that emphasizes accountability, engagement, and professional development across all teams.
- Implement and manage scalable HR systems and data infrastructure to support decision-making and performance insights.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations while maintaining equitable and consistent practices across all locations.
Organizational Development & Project Management
- Design and implement operational systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that streamline workflows and promote efficiency across clinics and departments.
- Lead cross-functional projects focused on process improvement, technology integration, and organizational change management.
- Partner with clinic and business leaders to evaluate existing processes, identify gaps, and implement best practices that improve performance and collaboration.
- Drive change initiatives, including system implementations, organizational restructures, and multi-location integration efforts.
Growth & Operational Leadership
- Build HR and operational frameworks that enable rapid scaling of the organization, balancing structure with flexibility.
- Partner with leadership to forecast workforce needs, develop succession plans, and align staffing with strategic goals.
- Develop and execute talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies that attract and retain top healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate across departments to optimize internal communication, administrative processes, and cross-functional coordination.
- Support business growth initiatives, mergers, and practice integrations through proactive people planning, alignment, and culture continuity.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations leadership experience, ideally within multi-site healthcare or clinical systems.
- Demonstrated success building systems, policies, and processes in high-growth or start-up environments.
- Strong project management and organizational development experience with proven ability to lead large-scale initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and best practices across multiple states.
- Must be at an HR or Director Level currently and have experience with growth businesses of 200 employees+
- Background in healthcare operations, multi-location (required) environments, or professional service organizations
Preferred
- Professional certification: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent.
- Experience integrating new business units, clinics, or services during expansion phases.
- Familiarity with HR technologies (HRIS, ATS, performance and engagement tools)
