About the job Controller
Arkansas Talent Group is looking for an experienced Controller in Bentonville, AR to oversee all accounting operations for their automotive dealership. This role will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and team leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong dealership accounting experience and will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making and driving profitability.
Job Duties:
- Lead and manage the dealership Accounting Department, including staff supervision, training, and development
- Oversee complete accounting cycle including month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial statements, ensuring timely delivery to management
- Manage accounts receivable/payable, cash flow, and banking relationships
- Ensure compliance with all sales tax requirements and automotive industry regulations
- Oversee payroll processing and benefits administration
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies/procedures
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage all outsourced accounting functions
- Monitor dealership financial performance and provide insights to improve profitability
- Manage floor plan financing reconciliations and manufacturer reporting requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR minimum 5 years supervisory experience in automotive dealership accounting
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA, preferred
- Proven experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar preferred
- Proficiency in ADP payroll systems and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of automotive industry compliance requirements, preferred
- Experience with floor planning and manufacturer financial reporting, preferred
Compensation:
- Base salary, plus monthly demo allowance, plus monthly bonuses
- Employer pays 75% healthcare premiums
- 10% 401K match on total employee contributions
- PTO
