Arkansas Talent Group is actively sourcing immediately available Staff Accountant talent to serve as an interim solution for our client, a full-service, well-established aviation company based in Little Rock, AR.​

Role overview

Our client is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and IRS regulations. This is an on-site interim role within a collaborative office environment at a respected Arkansas aviation organization.​

Key responsibilities

  • Handle daily general and cost accounting activities for the organization.​
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements and maintain the general ledger.​
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist with monthly close.​
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and resolve bank inquiries.​
  • Reconcile cash disbursements, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; assist with accounts receivable collections.​
  • Process and verify payments associated with accounts payable, ensuring accurate account coding.​
  • Support external auditors by gathering account information and documentation for audits.​
  • Partner with departmental managers and executives to provide financial insight that supports cost control and growth.​
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax forms as needed.​
  • Coordinate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems and maintain proficiency in purchasing and invoicing systems.​
  • Stay current on acceptable accounting practices and procedures and perform other related duties as assigned.​

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field required.​
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.​
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.​
  • Proficiency in general financial and cost accounting, including analytical and reporting functions, and solid understanding of GAAP.​
  • Experience preparing federal, state, and local tax filings.​
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and common accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
