Arkansas Talent Group is looking for an Operational Controller, who is a hands-on financial leader responsible for overseeing and executing all financial activities, including the month-end close, within a dynamic service organization. This role actively supports operations and process improvement, manages office and accounting staff, and ensures that both financial and operational functions are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and complete the full month-end financial close process, including general ledger reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, and timely communication with executive management.
  • Oversee all accounting operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, and expense management.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial reports to support operational decision-making.
  • Manage budgeting, revenue and expense forecasting, and business planning processes.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and all regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance, office, and administrative teams; oversee hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems, and operational workflows.
  • Support operational functions and help resolve day-to-day issues impacting office, staff, and business processes.
  • Ensure compliance standards for all accounting and business operations as relevant.
  • Serve as an audit liaison; coordinate audit activities, implement findings, and maintain documentation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to further office efficiency and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Construction, distribution, or manufacturing environment highly preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; advanced credentials preferred.
  • Significant experience in accounting/financial management in a service-focused organization, with a strong track record in similar roles.
  • Expertise in hands on month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing accounting staff and broader office/business operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is an on-site, hands-on position requiring daily presence in the office and interaction with staff and operational teams.
