About the job Controller (Multi Entity Family Office/Construction)
Arkansas Talent Group is exclusively working with a successful Entrepreneur in Little Rock, to help him find a Small Business Controller for his rapidly growing businesses. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of multiple diverse entities (6 total) that include: a large real estate holdings company, construction, and a tech firm, to name a few. The ideal candidate will have expertise in full charge/multi-entity accounting, the ability to manage complex financial portfolios across various industries for the Family Office, and heavy job costing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full charge accounting for all business entities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct regular cash flow analysis to ensure optimal financial health across all businesses
- Generate comprehensive P&L reports for each entity/consolidated financials
- Assist in financial planning and budgeting for existing businesses and new ventures
- Provide strategic financial advice to support business growth and expansion
- Coordinate with external CPAs for tax planning and preparation
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards, including GAAP
- Manage accounts payable and receivable across all entities
- Oversee payroll processing and employee benefits administration
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements for all businesses
- Oversee all administrative work and vendor management
- Extensive Cost Accounting/Job Costing required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
- Minimum 5-10+ years of experience in accounting, multi-entity experience working with multiple companies and inter-company transactions
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Expertise in accounting software and financial management systems, QuickBooks knowledge preferred
- Strong experience in cash flow management, full charge bookkeeping, P&Ls, and financial statement analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities to interact with various stakeholders
- Strong understanding of tax implications for various business structures
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
- Adaptability to work with different business models and industries
- Extensive Cost Accounting/Job Costing required
- Experience and comfortability with start-ups and fast-growing businesses
- Client seeks someone who is also operations-minded and can help out with other areas of the business.
- Would prefer someone who can step into CFO in the future as they grow.
