About the job Senior Tax Accountant (Family Office)
Arkansas Talent Group is excited to partner with a Family Office in Little Rock to find a Senior Tax Accountant for their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a distinguished team in Little Rock and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing financial strategies for a prominent family and investment team. As a core member of the tax function, you will enjoy exposure to a diverse range of partnership structures, investments, and tax challenges unique to the family office and private equity world.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review partnership and individual federal, state, and local income tax returns, including complex multi-state filings and K-1s
- Manage tax planning and compliance activities for private investments, trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals
- Collaborate across investment, finance, and legal teams to optimize tax strategies relating to new and existing investments
- Lead or support tax research and analysis for special projects, entity restructurings, and transaction planning
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax laws affecting private equity, family office, and partnership structures
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare year-end tax estimates for partners, leveraging your analytical skills and tax expertise to provide accurate projections and facilitate proactive tax planning strategies.
- Scrutinize financial statements with a keen eye for tax implications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Proactively identify potential areas for optimization and risk mitigation.
- Liaise with external advisors (tax firms, legal counsel) as needed to facilitate efficient and timely filing and compliance
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in tax operations
- Ensure strict confidentiality regarding sensitive family and business information
- Conduct In-depth Financial Analysis: Utilize your proficiency in financial analysis to dissect complex data sets, identify key trends, and generate actionable insights
- Present findings to senior management to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning
- Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Flexibly respond to evolving business needs by undertaking additional duties and projects as assigned by management, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to excellence
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field; Masters in Taxation is a plus
- CPA certified (or currently pursuing CPA)
- 2-5 years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accounting, private equity, or a family office setting
- Solid hands-on exposure to partnership and individual tax returns
- Proven ability to interpret tax codes/regulations relevant to partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals
- Strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines
- High level of self-motivation takes initiative, pursues learning opportunities, and is proactive in problem solving
- Discreet, trustworthy, and capable of handling highly confidential information
- Exceptionally collaborative a true team player who views their contribution as essential to making the firm a better place for all
