About the job VP of People (Training, Retention, Culture)
Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a dynamic, people-centered, and strategic leader to join our fast-growing, entrepreneurial Healthcare organization for a VP of People (Training, Retention, Culture).
This individual will be responsible for architecting and leading our people strategy focusing on culture, workforce development, talent acquisition, retention, and employee experience across a multi-entity and multi-location/state environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, is passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences, data focused, autonomous, decisive decision making, and leads with a servant leadership mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary and hands-on leadership to the People & Culture team, fostering collaboration, empowerment, and high performance across departments and locations.
- Champion an honest, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture that reflects our company values and inspires employees at all levels.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle: talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, learning and development, retention, and offboarding.
- Lead workforce development initiatives that support internal mobility, mentorship, skills training, and employee growth while supporting long-term organizational goals.
- Design and execute programs focused on employee recognition, reward systems, and performance-driven bonus programs aligned with business outcomes.
- Own and continuously improve recruitment processes that ensure consistent candidate experience, process efficiency, and quality of hire.
- Represent the company at job fairs, high schools, technical schools, colleges, and within the community to build brand visibility and develop strong talent pipelines.
- Serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership on organizational design, change management, compensation strategy, succession planning, and team performance.
- Ensure all HR operations, compliance standards, and people practices are consistent across 1540 offices/locations spanning Arkansas and surrounding states.
- Build and maintain a strong field presence through regular travel, visiting various locations to connect with team members and reinforce company culture
- Lead with empathy and energy, acting as the company's "culture champion," motivator, and advisor to both employees and leadership teams.
- Maintain HR data dashboards and workforce planning models using advanced Excel capabilities, helping inform business decisions and drive accountability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other department heads and support infrastructure, ensuring HR aligns with overall company strategy and day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
- Deep HR leadership experience in a mid-sized, high-growth privately held healthcare-related company (800- 2,000+ employees).
- Experience leveraging data through advanced Excel skills to analyze workforce trends and support strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field required, PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP required.
- Experience with the design and implementation of new programs from the ground up, including employee bonus programs, compensation structures, and retention initiatives.
- Experience developing comprehensive training and development programs tailored to employee growth and organizational needs.
- Deep experience in employee engagement and retention strategies, including recognition initiatives and career progression frameworks.
- Hands-on leadership with a high-growth entrepreneurial mindset.
- 10-15+ years in HR leadership in mid-sized organizations.
