Accounts Receivable Clerk

A/R Clerk-Multi Division Organization-Service, Manufacturing, Retail

Arkansas Talent Group is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our client's small business as they prepare for significant growth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients, identify delinquent accounts, locate and notify customers of delinquent status, initiate appropriate action to recover balances, and maintain all related records.

Key Responsibilities

Collections

• Call on outstanding accounts notifying customers of delinquent status and making payment requests.

• Research for updated contact information if not current. 
• Update daily follow up report and keep detailed records of all contacts with past due accounts.
• Investigate disputed balances.
• Correct errors such as misapplied payments, overcharges, or incorrect billing information. 
• Call on AutoPay declined card list.

Communicating collection concerns interdepartmentally

• Recording notes in the system
• Approving or disproving accounts for credit release

Assist Customers and Employees

• Faxing, mailing or emailing requested invoices
• Answering customer account inquires
• Explaining company terms and credit hold policies

Establishing New Customer Accounts

• Responding to new account set up requests within 30 minutes
• Calling customer trade references

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of collections experience
• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Above average word processing and spreadsheet skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• College degree preferred
