This position is onsite but could be located at any of their Arkansas branches such as Little Rock, Batesville, Hot Springs, Fayetteville, or Rogers.

Your role as a Internal Audit Specialist

The Internal Audit Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the bank's operational integrity and compliance. This position is responsible for reviewing internal checks and controls to safeguard the bank's efficiency and adherence to managerial policies, laws, and generally accepted accounting principles. The Internal Audit Specialist will participate in scheduled audits as outlined in the overall audit plan, meticulously reporting findings and making strategic recommendations. Ensuring sufficient documentation is provided, the Internal Audit Specialist will produce clear evidence of the internal audit work, supporting audit conclusions. Additionally, this role facilitates external audits by securing and providing necessary documentation in a timely manner, thereby contributing to a seamless audit process and reinforcing the bank's commitment to excellence and integrity.

To excel as an Internal Audit Specialist, candidates should possess a robust understanding of bank operation procedures, particularly in auditing, teller operations, general ledger, investments, and loan operations. A general knowledge of bank internal control requirements is essential, along with preferred experience working within regulatory agency examinations. Proficiency in Office 365 and various spreadsheet software programs is required to analyze data effectively.

Exceptional oral and written communication abilities are vital, enabling the Internal Audit Specialist to clearly communicate findings and collaborate with team members. The role demands strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex scenarios, excellent organizational and time management capabilities, and the ability to work independently without supervision. This skill set will ensure the Internal Audit Specialist can contribute significantly to the bank's commitment to operational excellence and regulatory compliance with professionalism.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Bachelors degree from a four year college or university in finance/accounting. Two or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in accounting, audit or compliance.
  • Experience, knowledge, and training in overall bank operation procedures with actual experience in auditing, teller operations, general ledger, investments, and loan operations.
  • General knowledge of bank internal control requirements necessary.
  • Work experience in regulatory agency examining preferred.
  • Skills in Office 365 and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties with integrity and professionalism.
