Position Overview
Arkansas Talent Group is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist/Manager (non supervisory role) to own and optimize our clients' entire AP process in a dynamic, high-growth organization. This role is responsible for running day-to-day AP operations, designing and implementing new systems and procedures, reconciling the AP register, and reporting directly to leadership. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, has experience with high-volume AP, and is passionate about process improvement and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval, and payment execution
- Design, document, and implement new systems and procedures to streamline AP workflows and support company growth
- Reconcile the AP register and vendor statements, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Own the AP ledger, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records for audits and financial reporting
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and ensure excellent service
- Prepare and review payment runs (checks, ACH, wires) and ensure compliance with company policies and controls
- Generate regular AP reports and present key metrics and insights to leadership
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, cost savings, and process efficiencies
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all financial transactions
Qualifications
- Experience with full-cycle, high-volume accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing or startup environment
- Demonstrated success in designing or improving AP systems and processes
- Strong understanding of AP software (such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Ramp) and advanced spreadsheet skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
