About the job Internal Auditor/Staff Accountant
Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with one of the largest privately held companies in the state of Arkansas to help them find an Internal Auditor/Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role is roughly 70–75% operational auditing and 25–30% accounting, with opportunities to cross-train across functions and gain exposure to multiple areas.
This is a newly created position, perfect for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to develop their auditing and accounting skills while growing with a collaborative company that values learning and career advancement.
Duties will include:
- Conduct audit testing, including walkthroughs, inquiries, observations, and data analysis, to assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate audit evidence to support audit findings and conclusions.
- Identify control weaknesses, process inefficiencies, and non-compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Document audit work thoroughly and accurately in accordance with internal audit methodologies and professional standards.
- Adapt audit procedures and communication styles to different environments.
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy between the general ledger and bank statements.
- Assist with lease accounting and journal entries.
- Cross train on various accounting functions including billings and accounts payable.
- Travel to various company locations as required (25% Travel).
Ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Entry-level or early-career candidates with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply.
- Internship experience in auditing, accounting, or finance is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong analytical skills to review data, identify patterns, and support practical solutions.
- Detail-oriented, able to maintain accurate records and manage tasks independently or remotely.
- Clear written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
- Adaptable team player who thrives in challenging environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting software or data analytics tools a plus
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
