Arkansas Talent Group is working with a growing construction company to find an experienced and high-energy Project Surveyor. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise, attention to detail, flexibility and versatility in performing the duties necessary in order to meet project requirements.

This position is one in which a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.

Key Responsibilities:

· Participates in planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and client representatives

· Assigns and monitors work progress, and provides input for evaluation of members of field survey crew; and instructs, trains and mentors field survey personnel in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures

· Gathers field survey data through the skilled use of conventional (TPS) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) equipment and methods, 3D laser scanners and other emerging technologies such as Photogrammetry

· Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including electronic total-stations, digital survey levels, electronic data collectors, and GNSS receivers, in order to measure positions, distances, elevations, and angles

· Prepares field notes and drawings; and performs field surveying for transportation projects, including airports, highways and roadways and bridges, including installing surveying construction stakes, and locating or establishing vertical and horizontal project control, right of way, and monuments.

· Performs complex surveying calculations using principles of plane geometry, engineering calculators, laptop computers or personal computers, and vector and coordinate geometry (Cogo) software, such as AutoCAD® Civil 3D, Bentley® MicroStation, Trimble Business Center and Carlson

· Responsible for measurement of field As-Built data sets and ensuring adherence to contract specifications and construction standards. Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy and prepares records of surveys in electronic data format, field books and other manual survey reports 

· May perform mapping, compliance or other related office survey duties, including processing, checking and correcting of field data

· Reports to general superintendent and may be required to attend periodic staff meetings with manager and senior department supervisors

· Attends periodic safety training courses, and maintains various safety training certifications

· Travels to field locations within and outside the State of Arkansas, as required

· Works outdoors under sometimes hazardous conditions (e.g. weather, construction sites, highways, railroads). This includes standing/walking and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs

Minimum Requirements:

· Must possess a valid drivers license

· Experience with airport, construction, highway and various transportation surveys and related project control surveys

· Experience operating various electronic data collection, survey analysis and CAD platforms

· Experience with conventional and robotic total stations, digital levels, and other survey instruments

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work well independently as well as with a team

· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications: · Two-year degree in Surveying Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field of study

· Experience with TOPCON, Trimble Business Center or other GPS Survey layout equipment

· Experience on Industrial/Heavy Construction Projects
