We are seeking a self-confident professional who has a strong sense of urgency, is people oriented, focused on results, an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager that gives clear expectations to engage the team in achieving and exceeding goals, to lead our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, delivery and safety. As a Plant Manager, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing production processes, and fostering a culture of excellence within the manufacturing team.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in high mix low volume manufacturing industry, with high interest in continuing developing to a Senior Manager level, engaged and eager to learn.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse workforce and have a change agent mindset.
  • Bilingual Spanish English
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Primarily Job Responsibilities

  1. Operations Management:
    • Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations, with a plan/do focus ensuring production planning targets being achieved, quality standards met, and delivery schedules are consistently attained.
    • Implement and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity by motivating the workforce to understand and participate in achieving challenging goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance, to streamline processes and resolve production challenges in a stable environment.
    • Maintain Strong Operational Metrics on or above target, ensuring that plant personnel understand and actively participate in achieving monthly goals.
    • Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Provide strong leadership to the manufacturing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment by communicating clearly and effectively with those who excel in promoting team development.
    • Set performance expectations, coach, and develop staff to maximize their potential crediting their successes and leading with a hands-on approach to teach and coach.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability among the manufacturing workforces.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer standards and expectations.
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any product or process deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Champion a strong safety culture within the plant, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines that live and promote zero accidents culture in all operations.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, implement corrective actions, and promote awareness of safety best practices among all plant personnel.
  5. Production Planning and Inventory Management:
    • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels avoiding affecting customers or increasing freight costs for the company.
    • Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage raw material procurement and ensure timely availability by following Product Line Simplification.
  6. Cost Management:
    • Monitor and control production costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.
    • Work closely with finance to develop and manage the plant budget.
  7. Continuous Improvement:
    • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to immediately identify areas for rapid improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall plant performance.
