Our client - is an early-stage FinTech company building a new technology platform in the payments and card acquiring space.
The company is currently at the beginning of its journey, which also means something quite valuable for the people joining now: there is no large organisation, layers of processes or a legacy way of doing things you simply have to follow. You will be working on green-field projects with no legacy baggage.

Now the company is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst to help build, structure and maintain a deep understanding of the acquiring and payments business.
This is a business-focused analytical role, rather than a technical administration, programming, product management or client integration position.
The Senior Analyst will work across different functions of the company to understand how the business operates end-to-end, bring together knowledge that sits across different stakeholders and external sources, structure complex business questions, and support management in making informed decisions.

Role Scope:

This role is focused on business analysis, cross-functional problem solving, decision support and institutional knowledge.

A key part of the role is turning fragmented information, different stakeholder perspectives and complex payment-related concepts into clear, structured and usable business knowledge.


The Senior Analyst may work closely with technology teams where technology impacts the business model or operating process, but the primary responsibility remains business understanding and analysis.

The role reports to the CTO and requires a high degree of independence, ownership and ability to work in an early-stage environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong end-to-end understanding of the Company's acquiring and payments business, including relevant operational, financial, regulatory and technology-related dependencies.
  • Build and maintain the Company's institutional knowledge by consolidating information from internal stakeholders, external documentation, payment schemes, partners and other relevant sources.
  • Analyse complex or ambiguous business questions and structure them into clear problem statements, options, dependencies, risks and trade-offs.
  • Gather input from relevant stakeholders across the Company, identify conflicting assumptions or viewpoints, and facilitate discussions toward a clear conclusion.
  • Prepare structured analysis, decision papers and recommendations to support management and, where relevant, Board-level decision-making.
  • Facilitate stakeholder interviews, working sessions and workshops to clarify business processes, responsibilities, assumptions and decision points.
  • Conduct gap analysis when assessing new systems, processes, operating models or significant business decisions, identifying missing requirements, risks, dependencies and open questions.
  • Translate complex business concepts and decisions into clear, practical documentation that can be understood and used by different audiences across the Company.
  • Document key business processes, workflows, operating principles, decisions and their rationale, and ensure that such documentation remains current as the business evolves.
  • Act as a communication bridge between different functions of the Company, helping ensure that business, operational, financial, compliance and technology stakeholders share a consistent understanding of key topics.
  • Support the organisation in reducing dependency on knowledge held by individual employees by ensuring important business knowledge is captured, structured and accessible.

Required

  • Relevant experience in a Senior Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar analytical role, preferably within financial services, payments or another complex regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to break down complex or poorly defined questions into clear components.
  • Ability to independently investigate a topic, gather relevant information, challenge assumptions and bring the analysis to a concrete conclusion or recommendation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely to different audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including confidence working with senior stakeholders and running interviews, discussions and workshops.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills, with the ability to consolidate complex and sometimes conflicting information into clear and usable outputs.
  • High level of independence and ownership. You should be comfortable working in an environment where not every task comes with predefined requirements or a detailed process.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and terminology.
  • Fluent English and Russian

  • Hands-on experience within card acquiring, payments, banking, EMI, PSP or related financial services businesses.
  • Understanding of the card transaction lifecycle, including areas such as authorisation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation and payment scheme operations.
  • Experience analysing business or operating model decisions and presenting options, risks and trade-offs to senior management.
  • Experience conducting gap analysis for new systems, processes or significant business changes.
  • Experience working in an early-stage, fast-growing or highly cross-functional organisation.
