Responsibilities:

  • Solid understanding of Magento 2.2+, 2.3 and general eCommerce technologies 
  • Strong proficiency in modern design patterns and development languages including PHP, Symphony, JavaScript, HTML, CSS 
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, webhooks, and general data transfer approaches 
  • Ability to identify areas that can be streamlined or automated. 
  • Ability to write unit tests when implementing user stories and design and develop code for testability. 
  • Solid grounding with common design patterns and development best practices. 
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and execute tasks with accuracy in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. 
  • Customer-first mentality with ability to empathize and create customer loyalty 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to perform effectively as member of a team, as well as work independently. 
  • Capable of effectively working and communicating with non-technical internal stakeholders and highly skilled technical development teams in an agile manner. 
  • Strong drive to continue improving skills and to stay on the cutting edge of web technology. 
  • Knowledge of ecommerce technology landscape and associated stacks (shopping cart, API integrations, OMS, IMS, WMS, credit card processing, tax engine, digital distribution etc.)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and optimize our Magento based eCommerce platform and integrations, utilizing industry standards and best practices 
  • Use your experience to design and plan work, to break down large tasks into smaller tasks, and to define and complete project goals 
  • Work closely with leadership and other stakeholders to set project priorities 
  • Lead and direct the development efforts of other team members 
  • Be comfortable and effective in developing both server-side and client-side JavaScript 
  • Integrate user-facing elements with server side logic 
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use 
  • Optimize sites for maximum speed, usability, and reliability 
  • Be flexible to changing priorities to accommodate the changing needs of our business 
  • Actively participate in an “Agile” development environment and be willing to take on various roles as needed 
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Be a strong, creative leader who is able to tackle large tasks and direct the work of others, without requiring direct supervision 
  • Be comfortable teaching yourself/learning new technologies and methodologies 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of deliverable 
  • Ability and willingness to be on call from time to time to respond to production support issues 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-3  years of experience working on the Magento 2+ platforms experience 
  • Experience in consumer-facing, ecommerce and mobile systems a plus.
  • Experience with responsive web design and mobile enabled development
  • Good communicate in English
